Mirella is a photographic project and it has received several prizes worldwide such as Sony 2013, WinePhoto 2012, PDN 2012, WorldReport Awards 2011 up to  the 1st Prize in the Daily Life section at the World Press Photo 2013, one of the main International photographic contest. The project started in 2007 and has lasted more than four year, during this time Fausto has followed Mirella, in her daily life, Mirella a woman, a wife, a caregiver who has looked after her husband Luigi, affected by Alzheimer, for more than 6 years.

Mirella was born as a work on Alzheimer but it doesn’t tell only about the illness, it tells a long story made by hope and resignation, death and life, dedication and love.

A daily life made by objects, signs, gestures, attentions. Day by day disbelief leaves space for hope, memory leaves space for sorrow.
